Northumberland played the East Midlands in the opening match of the Bill Beaumont Division 2 Rugby County Championships at Morpeth RFC's Mitford Road ground, eventually losing out 17-7.

Here Michael Langlands of Percy Park RFC & Northumberland, makes a line-break, but it caught from behind by the East Midlands defender.
