To perform this exercise properly, we want to maintain our back straight, and avoid any curves in the spine.

To maintain this we need to have a thoracic extension. This applies to most exercises you will be performing. How to do it?

It's actually very simple, roll your shoulders back and then down, keep that squeeze while pushing your chest out - think of it as trying to lift the clavicle up.

Now that the basics are covered to perform the row, you can use multiple attachments, in this case we used narrow grip. Grip the handle and pull towards your bellybutton, we are aiming for a 90 degree from your elbows. Then when doing the eccentric portion (lengthening your arms) go down in controlled manner.

Now there are many adjustments that you can do, such as stretch at the top of the movement to stretch the lats, and making the exercise much harder yet much better at growing those wings. Also to take the exercise to or past failure you can add slight swing to get the weight close to your body and try to squeeze it there. Unless training specifically for power, don't swing until you can't pull it anymore.
