Friendly reminder that as a kid, you used to do these rep after rep on old rusty swing set with NO pain. You just got worked by your 12 year old self and you probably didn’t even realize it until now. .
.
There really wasn’t much of a point in doing this, but I think it highlights a few important points:
1. You SHOULD be able to do stuff like this without pain as a functioning, healthy person
2. it’s a pretty good representation of the stress your joints and tissues are already placed under if you engage in nearly ANY high-impact sport. .
.
.
If this makes you cringe, understand again that this is largely akin to the demands placed on your body when you eat impact after impact, play after play. The only difference? The weight room is far more forgiving in its predictability.
.
.
“Life’s demands are ever-changing, unexpected, consistent, and extremely powerful. Your training stimulus should exceed what you consciously choose to participate in life and then double or triple that to prepare for the unexpected” @drtommyjohn
