Had the opportunity to have a 'master class' with Tim Clayton, Sydney Morning Herald Photographer and World Press Photo winner. It was amazing, had about 6 hours with him, learning about light, talking about composition and inspiration - before he took me with him to his job for the night, the Sydney Roosters vs the Bulldogs.
So - shot the game (with an SMH photographer press pass), and he promised me that if I got any good frames, then he'd file them up to his editor. To cut a long story short, I got this one, and it's ended up on the front page of the sports section (print edition), half page, in Australia's most respected newspaper. Unbelievable.
