A 340-mile relay race through the desert, from Santa Monica to Las Vegas, ‘The Speed Project’ is one of the more rouge and unknown running events out there. Pretty much a free-for-all until you get to the Las Vegas strip, each team has one runner moving at all times of the day and night with no set course. While only one member of each team is running at a time, the others are following in an RV, hydrating, sleeping and waiting for their time to run.

I’ve wanted to run this event the past two years, but given other circumstances it hasn’t worked out. This weekend i’ll be taking part in the virtual version of ‘The Speed Project’. The set up is each team has 31 hours (current TSP record) to run their farthest distance, so ideally you have a person in each time zone pounding the pavement with seamless communication.

Resting up the next two days so I can run as fast and as far as I can through the streets of NYC this weekend.
