Leonard Fournette's fantasy outlook is looking much brighter now that he is out of Jacksonville. He will be joining potentially a top-5 offense and he will clearly be the most talented RB in the backfield.
I like Ronald Jones, but isn't nearly as talented as Fournette is. Fournette will probably be the goal-line back, you always want to acquire the goal-line back on elite offenses because their TD ceiling is much higher than the average RB. Fournette was already being drafted in the 3rd round when he was with the Jaguars. I was staying completely away from him at that ADP and in that situation.
Now he will playing in much more favorable game scripts and his ADP will. I see him being drafted around Mark Ingram and Mostert, in that RB playing in a good offense but in a timeshare tier. Overall, this was a great move for Fournette. He went from being a player I was completely avoiding to a player I am now targeting.
Bruce Arians just said Ronald Jones is still they guy, but I believe that’s coach talk. It will probably take a couple of week for Fournette to get going, but by midseason he will be an established RB1.
You could potentially draft Fournette as your RB3 which would be really good value. If you are looking for a RB2-3 with RB1 upside I think Fournette is a nice pick this season.
