Productivity and efficiency are two of the most important objectives for every office, but a number of factors can have an impact on how employees perform at each of them. One of those factors can be not having access to the right office supplies and equipment.

If you need help drawing up a list of office supplies to order for your company, here are 10 that you should consider:

1. PENS - They run out and they run away. Offices go through pens quickly, so make sure you have a healthy stock of black and blue biros to ensure you never run out.

2. NOTEPADS - Pens aren't much good without anything to write on, so you're going to need a good supply of writing and notepads for staff to take notes and jot down ideas.

3. PAPER - As well as writing paper, you are also going to require paper for printers, fax machines, photocopiers and much more.

4. DIARIES - Although mobile phones and computers have replaced these to an extent, many employees still put their trust in a written diary.

5. POST-ITS - Office workers are a forgetful bunch and need reminding of many things. Post-it notes and other sticky note products will ensure no password is lost and no message misses its recipients.

6. FILES AND FOLDERS - Another one that may have been affected by computers and hard drives, but don't ignore the importance of keeping hard copies of your most important documents and the best way to store them is in files and folders.

7. STAPLERS - Unauthorised stapler borrowing accounts for 50% of all office arguments (probably), so make sure there's plenty to go round. Don't forget the staples, either.

8. WHITE BOARDS - If you still prefer to hold meetings without relying on technology, having a white board with appropriate pens and paper will still be a vital addition to the boardroom.

9. ENVELOPES - Sending out invoices, letters and products means having the appropriate envelops and packaging. That means a broad selection of envelopes and, to help parcel up larger items, some Sellotape.

10. PRINTER INK - There's nothing more frustrating in the office than when the printer runs out of ink when in the middle of an important document. Being able to replace it straightaway with the appropriate ink cartridge will make everyone's life easier.
