SAIC Fashion 2014

On May 2, 2014, a blend of intricate sculpture, precise construction, and a mass of fringe made for wildly memorable couture at Fashion 2014—this year’s incarnation of SAIC’s annual fashion show. Celebrating 80 years of fashion innovation, this year's show featured almost 250 pieces of student-designed work charging down the runway in Millennium Park in front of fans, fellow artists, and fashion’s elite. Each designer converted aspects of painting, sculpture, performance, installation, and technology into finely tailored garments that became electric when put in motion. The spectacle culminated in a multimedia performance by SAIC faculty member and national award-winning artist Nick Cave.
